Here are some links that will be of some help to you. You can always use Apple support and iTunes 'Help' for answers. Basicly, just set the options under each of the tabs in iTunes. Connect and highlight the iPod in iTunes to view the tabs.

Welcome to the cult I mean lounge. :) You're going to love your touch!

You have iTunes, right? You set up the syncing by attaching your new baby to the computer. It'll run you through setup. Give it a name, tell it if you want it to sync with photos, email, etc. (I don't bother with email since there I just use gmail, but I do like some photos so I can show off pictures of my dogs to strangers who don't care but smile and nod in a condescending fashion). Then click on the individual tabs and select what you want to sync.

What I do is create a playlist of favorite albums, then another playlist and have it pull from my "favorites" playlist but set it to only pull 5 gigs or 10 gigs, depending on how much music I want on my Touch. I have a number of apps, I put TV shows from my Tivo, and like to carry around a few movies (I need to have A Fish Called Wanda with me at all times...it's the law). If you know how to create smart playlists you can set it to synch 5 gigs from your Favorites list, least recently played, so you have fresh music all the time. I also carry a few favorite albums (Spring Awakening, soundtrack to Wicked...YMMV) with me, and if I want to carry music to put onto my computer at school I have a "Take 2 skool" playlist (my HD at school is mine, so I share my music there so I can torture the children with my 2 hours of "It's a Small World". You think I'm kidding.)

In addition I carry a few audiobooks. I subscribe to Audible.com and buy books. I created a simple playlist called "Current books" so that I always have my current books with me. I just drag them out when done, drag in your new book.
