Hi, I really can't make head or tail of this problem. My ipod has had no problems at all with connecting to my wifi when I'm at home since I bought it in early january. However, yesterday it stopped finding my wifi network, although it is detecting the one next door, so it's obviously not a general problem. The network itself is also working, because my laptop is picking it up. I've tried resetting it, and manually re-entering the details of my network, but I can't work out what else to do. Any ideas?

Just to clarify, do you mean the Touch can't see your network at all, or does it see it but cannot connect?

If it can't see the network in the list of available networks, have you made any changes to your router settings? If you changed your router to hide your SSID (network name) then the Touch may forget your network if you leave the area and come back. Try changing the router such that SSID broadcast is turned on.

If it can see the network but can't connect to it, there are a number of possible causes (e.g. router has MAC filtering enabled now, router security changed, router doesn't issue enough IP addresses, etc.)

Yeah, it wasn't broadcasting the SSID. Thanks so much, my dad set up the wireless internet and I can't make head or tail of it without help! All sorted now though. Thanks again,

Glad it worked out, for some reason some devices will forget about the network if SSID broadcast is off. My Touch remembers, but my son's MacBook forgets so I have to leave the SSID on. Having it on is not such a security risk anyway.

Absolutely no risk leaving SSID on, unless you have a stupid name for it :p
