I note from the two iTouches I have that the 2nd Generation version(2.2) detects fewer WFI Networks than the 1st Generation (1.1.5). I noticed this today when sitting in my car I turned on both iTouches to see what was available in the area I was in and the 1st Generation came up with 7 WFI networks whereas the 2nd Generation came up with only 2.

I would have thought that both versions would have detected the same number of networks. Is there a reason why the 1st found more than the 2nd?

(Also I note that the screen on the 1st Gen is far brighter and more vivid than the 2nd Gen and the battery life of the 2nd Gen isn't as good as the 1st)

What is this iTouch you speak of?

Anyway, some users have complained about the 2G iPod touch not having as good of a wi-fi range as the 1G iPod touch model. I didn't have any issues when I had my 2G iPod touch when it came to wi-fi so I can't really comment on it. Additionally, your statements about the 2G battery life are fallacious. The 2G iPod touch gets better battery life when browsing the internet, playing audio files, playing video files, doing everything. This has been proven a countless number of times. Reviews from iLounge, user reviews here, and even reviews from the anti-iPod cnet show this. I don't know what type of conditions you are using to test your 2G iPod touch.
