Hello.
I have an ipod, 5gb formatted from Mac to Windows.
I am using Windows XP Pro SP1. Whilst iTunes and Hardware Device manager see teh pod, and the pod is told to be used as a disk, it does not show up in My Computer, so I cannot use it as a hard drive.

Any ideas?
Thanks
Glenn

Enable it under iTunes Preferences.

Nope, as I mentioned in my original post, I have told the ipod to be recognised (via iTunes Preferences)

Hrmmm do you have any network drives mapped on your PC ? Flash drives, digital cameras, and other devices have a tendency to configure themselves to map to the first available PHYSICAL drive letter possible. If you have some network drives mapped, it's possible that your ipod is trying to map to the same drive letters. Here at work I have almost the entire alphabet mapped with network shares and my ipod (3rd gen 15gb) tried to pick the first available physical drive letter (e:) and I had that mapped to a drive on the network. Needless to say, the ipod would not work that way...just had to go into the drive management setup and assign the ipod to an unused drive letter and voila.
