Lately I have been listening to mostly heavy rock music. I really like bands like Clutch, Queens of the Stone Age, Tool, and Black Sabbath. What do you like along these lines? Anybody have any other reccomendations for me?
AC/DC of course! :D
Then we move on to the lesser bands . . . .
Led Zeppelin
Lynryd Skynyrd
Ted Nugent
Aerosmith
Def Leppard
Iron Butterfly
The Who
The Rolling Stones

I like various kinds of music, but you dont seem to be stating one genre alone. I would not consider QOTSA to be the same genre as black sabbath, but in any case, try your usuals (Off of the top of my head, Iron Maiden for the black sabbath category).
edit:
Oh yeah, to meet the queens of the stone age needs, dont forget the grunge bands of the early ninties. Soundgarden and Alice in Chains are a must.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I was really looking more for bands that I may not have been exposed to before. All the bands listed are good, and I have music from most of them. I guess I should have been a little more specific about that. Rocket from the Crypt is one listed that I cannot recall hearing. I'll have to give them a listen. Anyone have any other suggetsions? Thanks.
Twisted Sister <har>
Poison
Quiet Riot
Meat Loaf (a bit softer hard rock)
Jimi Hendrix (can't forget him)
Deep Purple (very old stuff)
Foghat
Cheap Trick (another softer hard rock band)
Boston (ditto)
Journey (another one)

If you like Tool (my favorite band), you'll probably like A Perfect Circle. You may enjoy Peach too (Tool's current bassist's former band). Oh, try dredg and 30 Seconds To Mars as well; I've been listening to those two a lot lately.

irjason, Have you checked out Nebula ?
Yet another band in the family of Kyuss, Fu Manchu, QOTSA, etc...
Nebula has 5 albums and is on Sub-Pop Records. Singer, Eddie Glass was formerly in Kyuss. Bigtime stoner, surf, riff-rock indeed! To the Center is a great album to start with. It features a brilliant cover of Iggy Pop's "I need Somebody" with Mark Arm of Mudhoney on vocals! Charged, Dos Eps and Let it Burn are also more than worthy of your hard earned $$$. Some of the production on Let it Burn is a touch sketchy but that's their first album on a very small indie label. Very low budget album but still worth picking up. Don't miss Nebula live!!!
Also check out:
Triple Fast Action - Broadcaster: It's out of print but not hard to find. They're a Chicago band that isn't afraid to rock hard! They're a little bit similiar to the Smashing Pumpkins with more edge...and no Billy Corgan. :)
Monster Magnet - God Says No: This has some great stuff on it. Much better album than their Powertrip record. The first track "Melt" is nice and heavy with great melodies.
Kevin Martin & the Hiwatts - The Possibility of Being: Former singer of Candlebox's new band. If you liked Candlebox and Kevin's voice, you'd love this. It's definitely not trying to be Candlebox II but Kevin's voice is so unique you can certainly hear similiarities. Musically it's definitely got it's own flavor. If you're interesed check out audio clips on Amazon or full tracks on Kmband.com. Take note of the song "Identify"! What a great hard rock song. Even if you didn't like Candlebox, check out Identify you'll be sold. I think the album comes out on June 3.
So there ya go. 4 really different rockin' bands for you to check out. Let me know what you think!

Second the Dredg and Monster Magnet suggestions. A few others:
Electric Six - Hard, energetic, almost punk-pop and fun/funny
Turbonegro - Balls-to-the-wall rock with a strange NAMBLA twist
And the foundation:
Joy Division - Just because they fuggin' rock worlds
Husker Du - Ditto. Progenitors of underground American "indie" rock
Fugazi - Picking up where The Du left off.
And in case you haven't heard 'em (although these are certainly a lot better known):
The Replacements
Pavement
Pixies
Some of this isn't quite as energetic and thrashing as some of the stuff you've mentioned, but all of these bands are awesome, and if you aren't into it when you listen, ya jus' don't know. . . .

I second the suggestions of:
Pixies
The Replacements
Fugazi
I LOVE these three bands. Pixies are one of my all time favorite bands! Surfer Rosa & Doolittle are incredible albums. Also, Let it Be by The Replacements is such a brilliant album. Great energy and raw production! Tim and Pleased to Meet Me are great as well but with much more polish. Ya gotta love the Mats. And, as for Fugazi, check out 13 Songs and Repeater, two of their best. Again very raw stuff.
All three rock but definitely in a different way than Tool or Sabboth. They have more of a punk edge than a slant toward metal.

I forgot to mention Tomahawk. The singer, Mike Patton, was the vocalist of other groups such as Faith No More, Fantomas, and Mr. Bungle.

I like Boxcar Racer and The Used.
Not sure if this is classified as Hard Rock but just got Audioslave's eponymously named debut album today - the band consists of Chris Cornell, Tim Commerford, Brad Wilk and Tom Morello who I believe were Rage Against The Machine.
Good album...................

Let me reveal my age by recomending the "new" live Led Zeppelin release "How the west was won". Back in the 70s we thought of this as "hard rock" Nowadays I am not sure it if would be considered that.

Goodness Kirk, I am a bit taken aback by reference to the Stones, the Who Led Zepplin and Aerosmith being lesser bands. Especially the Stones and the Who. They used to be all that in the day you know :)

I am also a bit taken by that. All of those bands and the word lesser should not be used in the same sentence.
Well, he was asking for hard rock recommendations. Those others are 'softer' by current standards. What, you don't recognize a bit of tongue-in-cheek?
But OK, guilty as charged. How about I beat myself up a bit to make up for it? <smack> <smack> aieeee!
