Hi Guys,

I just put one of those plastic sticky type clear screen protectors on my iphone last night. I had to peal it off and reapply it continious to get it perfectly around the little home button (PAIN) anyways. I just now notice under direct light there is this oily ranbow residue effect which you can just barely see from the under theprotector

Is that normal?
or is it cause I re-appled it a few times?
or maybe just a cheap screen protector?

I'd say it's pretty normal, although I guess it depends on the screen protectors you use. I'm using the SwitchEasy ones and it has the effect, but I only notice it when the phone is off. I doubt it's from re-applying it a lot, since most people end up doing just that.

It's not normal for the power support films... the ones from the apple store.

The Power Support films are hands down the best. No oil effects or sizing problems. Only the cheap crappy screen protectors produce the oil look.

sizing problem? do you mean the home button and reciver holes are a bit bigger for application or just the over all size of the screen so it doesnt hang off the edges of the iphone?

I mean both. Quality screen protectors are laser cut for precise fitting, and as such are able to area around the home button a dead on fit. Also you don't usually have to try 12 times to get them on like some of the others. You simply clean your screen and slowly apply. No oil, no bubbles just great textured, antiglare scratchproof fingerprintless protection!

I have no problems with cuts on my SwitchEasy shield, but once this dies I might pick up a power support.
