will keyboard "flip" while texting?

new iphone owner. so far, it seems to me while im texting the keyboard will not flip to the bigger size when you turn the phone. please tell me its not true....

Only works for web browsing, won't work on texting or e-mail, although there is an application for e-mails

If you have a jailbroken iPhone they have just released an app to make it flip.

i wish that apple let it flip when texting. that would make texting so much easier for me.
