I just can't seem to recall the time when this guy showed off an iPhone with what appeared to be a missing UI. The background was all black and had basic icons for the different functions of the phone itself like Bluetooth. I guess it had shipped that way to him, not sure. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I think I saw what you're talking about... could have just been a fake.

I know Engadget did an article on it a while back when the net was getting flooded with 3G reviews. Perhaps I will continue sifting through all the articles. If I find it, I'll post it here.

Here we go, guys! It resurfaced again on Engadget. Someone is auctioning off a "prototype" iPhone with the weird GUI I was talking about earlier:

I guess this is the 1st generation iPhone that's going on eBay. However, there was a 3G iPhone that had the same kind of UI a while back. Still, it's pretty neat!
jailbroken to look like the prototype?
