Any info on buying an ipod on Kijiji or Craigslist? They are much cheaper than FS, BB, etc. They have brand new and sealed ipods listed on both sites. How do you know if the ipod is stolen? Anyone can make up a receipt or story that they won it in a draw. What if it is stolen, can they tell when you download apps or songs? Could they send something that locks your ipod at the same time? Thanks in advance.

I'd be really careful about buying at online sites like that... you know the old saying: "You get what you pay for."

A lot of times purchasing on these sites you get good quality, legitimate product. However, there are times that you may not. Either way, you are not going to have recourse through Apple if there is a problem unless you are buying a new generation.

To answer your other question, there is no one that can tell if it's stolen by downloading songs or plugging it into a computer.

Well as said theres lots of legit sellers too, you are better go to see the ipod your self , and if its sealed i doubt highly that its stolen, ofc some1 might have stolen it from shop

If you are going to use Craigslist, only deal with people in person.

I work in fraud for a major credit card company. Good chance it may have been purchased with a fraudulent credit card.
