Hi there people was just a shot in the dark but was wondering what ya thinks im getting the ipod touch 8gb in about 3 weeks and was wondering do you think they will be coming down in price? as ive heard they sometimes do price reviews every 6 months or so

No. You are new so I will cut you some slack as this question gets asked a lot. People also ask when Apple is going to release a new generation. Anyway, Apple rarely ever drops the prices on their iPods. In fact, there was only one time that I can recall when Apple reduced the price of an already released iPod and that was on the non-color 20GB iPod. Apple had released a 4G 20GB and 40GB iPod with a color screen while the non-color 20GB iPod was still on the market. Apple dropped the price of the non-color 20GB iPod in order to clear their inventory.

Anyway, don't expect an official price drop. The 2G 8GB iPod touch will stay at $225 until the remainder of its days. Now, by the time September/October rolls around, Apple might release a 3G 16GB iPod touch for that price but the 2G 8GB iPod touch is not going to go through a price drop before hand. Apple is just going to replace it.

There are plenty of websites that offer some sort of sales on the 2G 8GB iPod touch. I know that Amazon.com is selling it for $215. You can also run by your local Circuit City and pick one up for about 5% off as the stores are currently liquidating their inventory. That is about it, Apple's official price is still $225 ($224.99) and that isn't going to change.

Thank you for the reply i live in the uk so will have a shop around although if i can get it of an american site cheaper i will do that aslong as they deliver to the uk, thanks again :)
