How long will my iPod Touch last?

Hey,
I just recently bought an 8GB iPod Touch and I would like to know how long it will last before I need to buy a new one (disregarding unforeseen accidents). I have heard that the battery only has about 500 charge cycles, but I also heard that the SSD has a finite amount of writes (I have already synced my iPod Touch a lot). How many times is too much to overwrite the information on the iPod? I also left my iPod Touch connected to my laptop and have barely used it disconnected from my laptop yet, is this a wise thing to do? Thnaks for any help.

Except for the battery, it will pretty much last until after you're looking for a replacement. The battery life may fade in a few years depending on how you use it, but you can always have the battery replaced.

Don't worry about the SSD.

Don't be too worries. It will be years vefore the touché battery is dead, and by then Apple will have something 100Xs better out.
