Just got a new 2nd generation iPod Touch 32GB yesterday. I turned on the WiFi and it found my home network. It asked me to put in the 26-character encryption key, which I did. There were no error messages and I checked the settings to make sure the DNS and MAC addresses were present. Everything is cool. Touch says it has full signal. However, when I went to access the App Store, I got an error message saying that it could not connect. Same with all other functions that require connection to the network. Does anyone have any idea what's wrong and what I can do to fix it? Just to make sure the WiFi radio was working, I tested it this morning at a Starbucks and was able to connect without a problem. I am using a Linksys a/b/g router with 128 bit encryption (26 character key).

Can you not connect just to the App store from home, or is all internet dead from home?

It's only when I try to connect with the Touch. The network works fine for my laptop and TiVo.

But can you connect with the safari browser from the touch, or is only your connection to the app store dead from the touch or is all internet from the touch?

No, I cannot connect to Safari, Weather or any of the other applications that need a network connection.

Okay Dokie...
Do you have a netgear? Some people with a netgear have said that temporarily disabling security, connecting with the iPod, then disconnecting, reenable security and then try to connect with your iPod helped them...
Is your security WEP or WPA?

I am using a Linksys router (a/b/g) with 128 bit WEP encryption enabled.

I had the same problem. Worked on it for a few hours. Tried everything that was suggested on the forums with no luck. Finally I looked and found a firmware update for my Linksys router. Up graded the firmware and I have not had a problem since. I don't know if you have the latest firmware or not so I thought I would let you know what fixed mine.

OK, I will try that--it's my last resort because nothing else has worked. Very frustrating. Thanks for the advice.
