I recently ordered and received an arctic capsule rebel which I have to say has the potential to be a very nice looking if not one of the nicest looking cases in my opinion out there, however the manufacturing of this product for atleast the one I received was very poor.

I want to find out if anyone else has also had the problems I have.

The product I received reveals pressure points all over the back of the phone when inside the case looking absolutley nothing like their photos on switch easy's website which look absolutley clean where mine has them all over the place thus looking sloppy. My first reaction was its just cosmetic so ok fine I'll live with it.

The spine I received has 3 manufacturing lines which almost look like someone used an Xacto knife and cut a line across the first rib of the phone cutting through the apple logo on the back of the phone. Then there are 2 other lines on each side running vertically down the length of the spine jumping across all the ribs down to the very last one. This one bugs me because the spine should be manufactured smoothly exactly as it appears in all ads.

Lastly which is not a big deal but still adding onto the rest of the disapointments, on switcheasy's website, the hard rubber inner case shows 2 manufacturing holes in the center on the back, well mine has 4 in all, 2 on each side of the case, under the second and the last ribs on the back of the phone.

All in all I am pretty disapointed in the product just wondering if anyone out there has had the same problems or if anyone out there has a much better version of the Switcheasy CapsuleRebel in Arctic color, thanks.

I don't remember that many problems, mind posting some photos? If you're really unhappy you can contact SwitchEasy and pick up a new case (and even switch color) and they should send you a new one, maybe even without sending the old one.
Although some people have complained that SwitchEasy never responds to them, so I'd suggest to be straight foward and state that your case seems to have major imperfections which could be caused from a manufacturing defect, instead of being a complete ####### (I bet they ignore those people :P)

Only thing I remember about my case was the 2 molding spots, but I still ended up returning it for a Neo, but my fathers black rebel looks fine, no cuts or anything.

I did write to switcheasy however it was not short and I was far from an ### about it. If I don't hear from them maybe i will follow up on it and use your advice about getting to the point. I did however tell them I felt their ad was a bit deceptive about the final appearance of the phone because if you look at switcheasy's capsulerebel in arctic color the case looks much more clean than what you see in the photos I have provided. Below are the pictures sorry about their quality I took them with my old samsung being i did not have a digital camera available at the time. The case was made for 2nd gen Iphone and the phone I have is a 2nd gen Iphone aka Iphone 3G just to be clear, so im not trying to stuff a tire into a sock so to speak thus giving me pressure points lol.

This is the full back photo take note of all the pressure points all over the back of the phone they appear under the spine and under the inner rubber. An optimist would say it gives it character a pessemist would say it looks bad, personally im not disgusted with them but not crazy about them either. Also you can see the 4 manufacting holes which really are'nt much of a biggie, putting myself in their shoes I presume they decided to take the 2 larger holes in the center and traded them for 4 smallers ones which arent seen in the focal point of the phone but more off to the side.

These here are 2 pics of the spine by it self detached from the inner rubber these however do bug me, #1 they are'nt even centered and #2 when holding the phone around in different positions to light it just does'nt look natural, to be honest if I was simply given just a clean spine I would probably be happy about the whole thing.

Regarding switcheasy's customer support I will have to follow up on it.

Ah yes, this was another thing that bugged me about the Arctic case (and most clear cases) in that if the plastic wasn't pushed up right into the silicone it would make air pockets and color changes.

I'll I'm going to say you got a bad unit, and that the website does a bad job in the preview, and ask for a new color.
Wish they had a black/blue or blue/yellow mix.

Does the rebel work with a full body invisable shield?? Or does the shield make it too bulky?

Ya, the RebelArctic is a big let down- they photoshop it to hell on their website.

1) It scratches
2) It has those pressure points
3) Its not anywhere as clear as they show it to be.

But, where there's a problem, there is spray paint ;)

I painted mine white : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMApxYvkNoo&feature=channel_page
Also im not responsible if you do this yourself

As I mentioned I would follow up on my progress with switcheasy.

I did not have to send a second reply they responded within two days and were prompt with following responses, as some have mentioned sezoltan is their I am guessing US rep. They would however not go through with any support being I purchased it from a reseller. Although I understand their bussiness sense on this they still could back up their product, had I purchased it from them I assume though they were ready to do whatever would have satisfied me.

The reseller did offer to replace it for me and their fix was to change colors so I assume the arctic, and as mentioned above comes with these drawbacks. So for anyone purchasing this case color be aware that as attractive as it looks on switcheasy's website it will not look exactly the same. A few things you can do is seat the phone into the case differently and you maybe able to remove "reroll" some of those smudge pressure points but they will always be there. I have also noticed that with some use I am guessing the phone has spaced the rubber out a bit so some of the pressure points have become less prevelant but consumers be aware.

I have seen a review of the case being used with a full invisishield, the fit is a little tight and when "rubber-plastic" part of the case has the phone seated in it, on the front face it seemed to leave the edges open a little bit. So yes it does fit inside the rubber "according to the youtube review" and you are able to snap the spine in aswell but I would say expect the edges of your screen on certain sides to be exposed, I would'nt say dangerously exposed but not quite like a glove.

My arctic have the same defects as the threadstarter. 4 injection points, lines running across vertically and horizontally. Worst still, i've got this arctic as a replacement from my old red rebel which had its rubber near the port connector torn.

However, I must really give two thumbs up for switcheasy's customer service personnel. They replied my 1st email within an hour and subsequent emails in half an hour time. They even made an effort to send me a totally new arctic right to my doorstep even though i am located in Singapore, which is at the other end of the world. In a matter of days, i received my replacement arctic without needing me to send back my damaged red rebel.

For this service itself, i would definitely support their product though they might need to do a little touch up on the quality of their products. :) :) :)
