To make a short story long. I'm outside digging out of the snow storm 2 nights ago. My phone battery dies so I use my wife's, put it in my pocket and continue snow blowing. Get woke up from my wife at 2am, where's my phone. We end up discovering it's somewhere outside and more then likely under one of the 3' + piles of snow. The battery died after the 4th or 5th call so we where pretty much screwed. We tried to find it then next day but gave up. So now I'm on the hook for a new phone. I pushed her toward the iphone, even though I'm a BB user.

So far the iphone is pretty amazing at a lot of things, and surprisingly bad at others. There are quite a few things that would seem like basic functions that just aren't there. But I know we all know those so I won't go through the list.

On to the short part of my story.

Fast forward 2 days and I'm syncing contacts, calendars, etc for her and there seems to be no good way to do our calendars. We have shared Google calendars. I'd like an over the air solution to sync just her part of the calendar and not mine. Google gives plenty of ways to do it, but again the iphone seems to only favor certain ways of doing things and doesn't allow itself to be opened up to change. Nuevasync . com actually works pretty good at getting the calendar to the iphone. However it syncs all calendars the google account is setup to use. I don't want both calendars on the iphone calendar app, just hers If she needs to access mine she can use the google web app on the phone which is ok to show both mine and hers together.

The way we've always worked in the past. She relies on her google calendar and has access to mine so she can put in reminders for me and see my schedule. Mine is setup with the extremely handy gsync for the BB. So I go Domino->BES->BB->gmail->her calendar. There doesn't appear to be any over the air solution for the iphone. Except nuevasync . com, which doesn't allow you to choose which calendar. Plus honestly giving an unknown company/website that much access doesn't give me a warm feeling.

Any ideas on what to do would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear that happened. But why did you need your iPhone out there so badly anyway?

Nuevasync only syncs to calendars that the syncer (your wife) has editing privileges for. If you change the privacy settings on your GCal so that she can see but not edit your calendar, then Nuevasync won't push it to her phone. She obviously won't be able to add stuff directly to your calendar, but she can still send invites (which can automatically show up on your calendar, with the same basic effect).

I lost her old phone, so to make up for it I had to get her an iphone. Lost all her contacts, pics, etc. :shake: I needed the phone because believe it or not I've never used a snow blower before. I just went out and bought one and called my pops 1/2 way through to ask a question of snow blowing etiquette. Incidentally the question was "Is it a bad idea to build up the snow along the side of the house"? As it melts I assume it will create ice dams at the base of the house and could cause issues. He said I wouldn't worry about it to much, just don't do it around a dryer vent.

That's good to know it's based on editing privileges. So I could remove her edit and she'd still be able to see what I have going on through the web app. Then just have her send invites for me, I shouldn't even need to respond according to the options. Although that creates another problem, anything she creates for me, will also show up for her. So when she creates a pick up dry cleaning on Thursday, it'll show up for her too. But I don't think that will be to big of a deal, especially if we can eventually get color coding for events. The big thing is my work calendar is extremely busy and she isn't going to want to deal with that data. When we first started this last year, we ran into a few issues where she'd accidentally block my whole day or cancel an overlapped meeting or something. We'll just have to work through and get a new process for this.

I see both calendars when I go through their website, they're listed as calendars to sync. It would be nice to have the option to choose which ones. I've sent them a support request asking for the functionality. It's a pretty cool system, it will be interesting to see if they can get a business out of it.

Thanks for the help
