I'm trying to set up a new touch for my daughter. I've d/l'd itunes 8 and since I didn't have a usb 2 port I bought a pcmcia card. When I try to sync, The music synced but video didn't. I was trying to sync but about halfway through the ipod shut down and I got the message the ipod disk could not be read or written to.

I tried to sync just a few small video files and it worked. I even plated them on the ipod. I then tried to sync a full length movis and it crashed again. Also the previously loaded videos are now longer visible in the video library on the ipod.

I tried syncing a few more times and the same lock up occured. Funny thing is every time I try the "Other" bar on the summary page keeps indicating more and more disk usage. So something is being coppied to the Ipod. I just can't find it.

Any help would be great

Does the iPod show any sign of charging when connected? I've got a feeling that PCMCIA cards don't provide power to the ports - I know that firewire ones don't. This could mean that the iPod is running out of juice before the sync finishes, and if it doesn't complete properly it does just tend to show as Other, and not be readable.

Yes it does seem to be charging and has plenty of juice. The usb 2 card came with a power cord that plugs into another usb 1 port
