Does the ipod work with any usb wall charger?

I have an ipod touch (1G) that i am planning to take on an extended trip. I cannot bring my computer, so i need to charge my ipod. I have a usb wall charger that once belonged to a bluetooth headset that i use sometimes to charge my ipod video (5G?). The ipod video works fine with the charger, including having the charging symbol. However, the ipod touch doesnt seem to charge, and doesnt have the charging symbol. Is it just slow like normal above 80%? Or does it only work with certain chargers?

Also, would it work with a 4G and 5G Nano (The wide one and the new one)?

You mean a 3G and a 4G iPod nano? The charger might work with the 3G nan but not the 4G one.

It is my knowledge that the 1G iPod touch should work with any charger that works with the older iPods such as the 5G iPod. Things have changed with the newer software and Apple could be locking out different chargers that use certain voltages.

So I guess you kind of answered your own question in that the iPod touch won't work with any USB AC charger. You would be better off just purchasing Apple's $29.99 AC charger if you want to ensure compatibility and use it with so many different iPods.

I guess a Wall USB charger works well with 1G iPod.. i personally have 1G nano and i can easily charge it with Wall charger..

though i would tell you to buy Apple's charger too :P

I just bought a LG Dare phone, it has a USB charger. I also got a 2G Touch. It does charge both, just be sure you have your little white charge cord that came with your apple. It does work well, as I use my charger to charge my touch, and my phone.

My 32 Touch does not work with the Kodak charger, however thanks to post above, I just tested with my Dare charger and it works!

My Kodak AC to USB works with most of my other stuff, so I am guessing there is something about my iPod Touch 32 preventing the Kodak from working but luckily it does work with my Dare charger.
