I had to trade in my first gen. 8GB iTouch for a "refurbished" one because of the headphone port wasn't working when I was listening to music.
When I took home my iTouch everything was fine until we had snow in Chicago. Then I could barely use the internet on my iTouch and yet on my computer everything was moving smoothly. I could not go on safari without refreshing like 2 times or go on an app that required wifi. I tried wifi at school and it worked so I know it's not really a malfunction on my iTouch. I tried to reset network setting on my iTouch and shutting off the router and turning it back on.
Now it's been a few weeks and now I cannot go on the internet at all on my iTouch. I have no idea what the problem is or where to ask for help. I cannot go to Apple because they never answer my emails, the people I call are from INDIA who can't speak ENGLISH, and I cannot go back to Apple store without an appointment. I know I'm babbling but i have no idea what to do :shake:

I have a Linksys WC200-CC Router from Comcast with a WEP (?) key.

More than likely the problem is with your router, not with your iPod touch. You could always make an appointment to go back to the Apple store (you can do this online, it takes about 2 minutes) to see if they will give you another iPod touch but I wouldn't hold my breath.

You can try resetting your router. Have you tried unplugging that for 30 seconds (from the power) and plugging it back in? I would contact Linksys for more information regarding iPod touch compatibility. If I remember correctly, many people with Linksys routers have or had issues with their iPod touch units.
