I have a 2G Touch and a Kensington LiquidAux. It generally works except that once the ipod has gone to 'sleep' for more than a few minutes, the remote will no longer restart music playback from the remote.
The only way i've found to solve it is to unplug the dock connector and reconnect - Pulling the power out from the LiquidAux doesn't work. (But the ipod does notice its charge power coming and going)
I also had a cheap ipod remote cable and noticed it did something similar - but it was a cheap unpowered ebay thing, so I didn't give it much thought.
This is annoying as i'd like to be able to just hide the ipod somewhere and forget about it - but at the moment I have to disconnect and reconnect it everytime i start the car. :(
