Syncing doesn't delete old podcasts I manually added, just makes them inaccessible.

I've got my sync options set to sync the 3 most recent episodes of each podcasts on my phone. However I often add more of a particular podcasts manually by dragging them over in itunes. The next time I sync it doesn't delete these extra podcasts from my phone but they are no longer accessible in the podcasts menu on the phone itself. I can browse and see them on the phone in itunes if I "show browser" and sort by "podcasts" in the phone but I can't get to them on the phone itself to play them. It's like the tag is changed but they're not deleted.

So everytime I have to delete any old ones from itunes before I sync or they'll fill up my phone. WTF?????

If you want iTunes to handle this properly you have to download all of your podcasts through iTunes. When you add episodes manually, iTunes doesn't know that it's a podcast and treats it like any other song.

I do download everything via itunes, this is all happening within itunes and nothing but itunes. By manually adding I mean dragging and dropping to my phone within itunes.
