New To The Board And Iphone. Need Your Advice

Hello,

Im about to get an IPHONE for Christmas. I need to know what to expect and why jailbreak, and is it a must? And I send ALOT of pictures and text thru my phone and NOT thru email.
AND WHATS WITH THE TEXT KEYBOARD?? Any word on when they will fix it to landscape?


Please anyone know of articles to read or any advice for me is greatly appreciated!!! :)

You don't have to, people jailbreak to add some applications that otherwise couldn't be added normally, such as the Qik app that allows your to stream video from your iPhone directly to a website in real-time.
ALOT of pictures and text thru my phone and NOT thru email.
Then you could be in trouble. Some people have been able to send picture messages through e-mailing people's cell-phone, check the sticky'd thread in the iPhone section.
Since I don't jailbreak I don't know if you can send MMS doing so. Although I have heard that an MMS application is in the works.

Caps Lock deserves no answering, except head to an ATT store and try texting. Landscape is not provided for texting or even e-mail, only in web browsing. There is an application that wil allow you to type in landscape and save it as an e-mail, not sure on one for texting.

If you really do alot of picture messaging and can't stand texting without a physical landscape keyboard, this may not be the phone for you at the moment.

Swirly MMS is by far the best application to be used on the iPhone to send and receive MMS. I bought it but mine doesnt work due to proxy settings through Danger's server since I have the Sidekick Prepaid Plan... internet works fine though :D

But yea... its well worth $8.00.... I purchased one for my iPhone and despite the fact that it didnt work... its still worth it cuz it made my internet work hehe.... but it has worked before though.... before I switched plans.... so i know for a fact that it does work :D
