Transfer pictures from digital camera to iPod Touch without a computer?

I'm wondering if it's possible to transfer photos from my digital camera (or SD card) to the iPod touch without a computer? I'd like to do this because I'd like a way to back up my photos while i'm traveling for long periods.

There used to be a camera connector made by Apple, however, this accessory is not compatible with the ipod touch/phone.

There aren't any products that work with the current iPod touch or iPhone. The best option is to purchase extra SD cards to store the photos. When it's full just use a new card. They are very cheap now. You also won't have to worry if about running out of storage space or if the iPod has a problem and you end up having to restore it.
