Reformatting Computer...can't find iphone backups

I'm getting ready to reformat my computer. I want to make sure I save my iphone back-up files so I can restore the phone. I looked online and it said that on windows xp it would be in C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup but it's not there. There is no "application data" folder on my hard drive in that path.

How can I make sure I don't loose any of my info or apps on my phone?

The folder is hidden and could be a system file.
Go to folder options from the control panel and click the tab view. From there check "Show Hidden Files and Folders" and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files".

Thanks. That did it. I expected to see a single file for the backup. Holy crap! There are thousands of files in there. Is this normal?
