In my 8gb iPhone I have 2.38gb of "Other" files and I can't work out what this might be. Is there any way I can find out? All the other categories have something in ie Audio, Video, Photos, Apps and Free but 2.38gb of "Other" files? Something's wrong surely.
Any ideas?
Typically Other would account for Application data (not the apps themselves) or temporary data (like internet cache), or album art, basically stuff that doesn't fit into any of the other categories.
If you have 2.38gb of Other, then something is probably messed up. Perhaps some media was "deleted" but not actually removed from the device, perhaps some corruption occurred resulting in orphaned media. A restore of the iPhone will typically solve it.
