My 2nd Gen iPod Touch is a few days old. I notice when I connect it to my computer with the included usb cord, that the connection between the cord and the iPod feels much looser in the socket than the other older iPods in our home.

This is presenting a problem because when I hold the iPod Touch in my hand while it's connected to the computer, any slight movement on the cable is causing the plug in the iPod's socket to move enough that my iPod is disconnecting in iTunes. I've tested 2 new usb cords, both result in same problem. Although this doesn't seem to happen if I use the "old" style usb cord that had the springs on the sides you pinch in to lock the plug into the socket.

The connection just doesn't feel as tight and it feels like the plug isn't in the socket all the way even though it is obvious that it is. For some reason it's losing contact. Has anyone else had this problem? I don't know if I should return my iPod Touch and get another one or if this is normal.

I've checked mine (also a 2nd Gen iPod Touch), and wiggled the heck out of it after plugging it in using the stock cable, and the connection seemed to be rock solid.

You may very well have a defective unit. I would suggest exchanging it with another one and see if you again exhibit the same problem.

Thanks for taking the time to check. Hopefully Best Buy won't give me any problems.

Mines fine. Looks like you got a bad one but I don't think you will have to much trouble getting it replaced

I took it back to Best Buy yesterday and exchanged it for a new one. New one is much better.
