Hey All ..
My Touch version is old (1.1.4) and i want to upgrade it, but i guess everything will be deleted correct?!

Is there a way to back them all back?

Another question, what is the use of the playlist folder?

Upgrading your firmware should not erase the songs on the iPod. However, you should store the songs on your computer's hard drive as well. Don't have enough space? Go out and buy an external hard drive. You can pickup an 80GB USB2.0 hard drive for less than $50. You should ALWAYS have the songs stored on your computer as well as your iPod. I have seen too many people on these forums that only store the music on their iPods, have an issue where their iPod needs to be restored (and the music can't be copied off of it), and then end up losing all their music.

There are many 3rd party programs that can copy music off of an iPod touch to your computer. You can use iTunes to copy your purchased content only.

The playlist folder is there to store playlists.

Thanks a lot.
I do have the space, and i do have the songs on my pc but you know in the iPod i have done them with their art work and stuff, so is there a program that would backthem up to my pc then back to my iTunes as the are or not?

please, mention the way or the program name

Yes, there are plenty of programs. I don't know of any but either search iLounge or conduct a Google search. I found plenty of results in Google for the phrase "copy songs off of iPod touch" without the quotes.

Why do you need to do this if the music is already on your PC? The album art should be added to the songs in iTunes first and then added to the iPod.
