How long would it take for an iPhone 3G dock to be delivered from the Apple Store?

I know it's not really worth it at $30, but I can't help but get it, it's really appealing and keeps everything simple and organized. But I'm gonna regret it because I'll be using the SwitchEasy CapsuleNeo soon... anyway I can live with not using the case all the time.
Some questions:

Would the dock get the iPhone scratched up since you can't use a case and the dock at the same time?
Also, if I order it from the Apple Store (store.apple.com) - how much would it be total for tax + shipment + price, and how long would it take to get to an address in Florida because it's not an option after December 16.
Or, could I just get it from an AT&T store or a Best Buy or Apple Store (provided there's one near), would it cost less? How about from BestBuy's website? It's $35 with free shipping, would it cost less than at Apple's website?

Edit: Checked: Total cost from Apple Store: $35.50. The Best Buy one is pretty much the same, though I'm not sure if it's with or without tax. Anyway, I just need to know an ETA for the one from the Apple Store to see which to get since they're both around the same price (at Best Buy its ETA is from 12-18 December). And if I can buy one for cheaper from some stores?

A dock to me, is a lazyman's accessory (am one of 'em), and if I have to take off the cover in order to use the dock, it would defeat the purpose.

An iPhone is a relatively heavy device. Ergonomically, a dock should be heavier than the device it holds (serves as anchor), and I notice Apple's genuine docks then to be that way but generic docks may not.

Just rambling from a seasoned gadget enthusiast who likes his gadgets just so.

I bought an aircurve to serve as my alarm and dock but found out it's not a universal dock so now I have a clarifi /sigh I was really hoping to keep my neo in case but I didn't want to pay restock. Anyway keep that in mind, switcheasy provided nice extras

If you just want a simple dock then there isn't much wrong with the Apple one, only other option is getting a system with speakers and the universal dock connectors so you can use it to play music, but that'll cost you quite a bit extra.

Just a little extra question: How much is the first month's bill supposed to be (activation + first month + tax)? Because I heard it may be $135 and that's more than I imagined, I was thinking $115.

If you had an Apple store or Best Buy I'd just call and check if they had any dock's in store and pick one up. Be faster and cheaper (depending on distance) then paying for shipping.
The first bill depends on what you got on your ATT bill, but if I remember it's like $30 for the activation, around $90 for the lowest plan, and I have no idea on what Florida's tax is.

Thanks for your help :) But I think I've decided to scrap the idea of the dock. The CapsuleNeo (my case) comes with the video stand, and I can use that instead. Sure, it's not as elegant and neat and good-looking as the dock, but it gets the job done, I don't have to pay for it, and it actually works with the case.
