I just got a new touch and I'm wondering if there's a way to set up my email so I have to type my password in to get my email. I know that seems counter intuitive, but I'd feel a lot better about security in general if I knew that it wasn't just there all the time. Is there a way to do this?

Yeah, just follow the set up process when you open the email app for the first time....pretty simple

I didn't see any option for that when I set it up. Now when I click on mail it takes me to my inbox but will usually flash an error message about my username and password not matching up right. Just to be clear, I'm looking for a way so when I click on mail it asks me to type my password before going into mail. I tried deleting my account and starting over, but it won't let me save an account without putting a password in. Am I missing something?

Unfortunately I don't believe there is a way to do what you want it to. You could put a password on the lock screen, but that would be about it...

That's . . . disappointing. But I appreciate the help. I don't suppose there's a way to make Safari remember my username but not password?
