ipod touch charging for the first time?

i just connected my new touch 2nd gen to itunes and by the time it synced my music (15 mins)
the battary appeared fully green on the touch screen
should i disconnect it and use it or should itunes give me a message that its fully
charged

btw what does the battery/lightning bolt icon mean ..charging?

and yea am new to itunes

The little lightning bolt within the battery indicates charging, it will then change to a power plug when the battery is fully charged.
