This is supposed to last 14 hours longer than the 1st gen but in just a few hours playing games it drains to empty.
Is that normal?
Sorry for all the questions. I've been having a whole night of it freezing up, Apps not synching (1/2 of them just not transferring for some reason even though all settings are right), etc.

Some games suck the life out of the battery very quickly regardless of what generation your touch is.

The expected battery life of 14 hours longer (36hrs) than the 1G model is for audio playback, usually calculated in perfect conditions with no EQ, skipping, minimal backlight use as well as other power saving settings. Game play would probably fall under the 6 hrs battery life quoted for video playback.
Since you are experiencing freezing and other issues with your touch you may want to Restore your iPod using iTunes. All the media files will be erased but bookmarks and other settings should be save in the iPod backup. Make sure you have the latest software. Some have found in earlier versions of the iPods software installing Apps via the App Store on the iPod can make it unstable. Restore will re-install the Apps from iTunes which helps.

I did a restore already. There seems to be a bug with using iTunes to Sync all the apps onto the iTouch. Hopefully there will be a fix. Until that fix comes around, I had to manually go through about 6 pages of "free apps" and write down 1/2 of them that didn't sync and then delete them from my iTunes apps library THEN use the iTouch's apps downloader to install those apps. So far that worked, but it took me hours. And quite frankly, I'm not holding my breath that somehow an app here and an app there will go missing as time goes on.
BTW, I have 16 gigs and I've used like 1 gig, so it's not a memory issue.
Also, trying to put a bunch of mov's onto the iTouch will freeze up the iTouch. I found dragging and dropping 1 by 1 works the best, although it was VERY tedious and NOT the way this whole expensive deal is SUPPOSED to work.

Six pages of Apps is a lot, do you really need them all? You may want to consider syncing selected apps. I have also not heard of any issues of syncing multiple video's. I regularly sync a number of TV Shows and video podcasts to my 1G touch running the latest software with no issues.
