I have a 95 haonda accord and I want to install my ipod into it. I like the idea of installing a dock into the car but am not sure how to, should I use an auxilary adapter or buy a alpine head unit with an aux port? I dont know if my car has one, i have a factory radio cd combo. any help would be sweet.

Well check here to see if you can add RCA inputs to your car.

Can your existing stereo run a CD changer? If not then the above probably won't be much help, sorry.

I just put back my orginal head unit after getting the RCA unit that works with it, hopefully less likely to be broken into, if all someone sees in the stock stereo. That's about the only down side of a new head unit, that it is more likely to be stolen.

Good luck

I installed an auxilary adapter in my 97 Civic, today and it works great.

I hope this isn't too late, but if it is, it may help other people.

Here's a site that I found very helpful. The guy gave fairly detailed instructions and has pictures. He also has links to other resources and stores for parts that he used. From what I've read, you should be able to install one into you factory CD player.

I have a '95 Civic Ex w/ the factory cd controller headunit but no changer. I purchased the HON/AUX adapter from Logjam, a 1/8" to RCA cable and right angle adapter from Radio Shack, and a monster icharger from Crutchfield. It sounds awesome. Very easy installation. I had everything apart, installed, and back together within a half hour and I am not mechanically inclined. I have just one charger and I go back and forth between 2 vehicles so I didn't hide the cables, but it would have been very easy to do. The site below might help. Good luck.
