marking multiple e-mails as read

On the newest firmware, is there any way to mark multiple e-mails 'as read' or 'unread'?

So far I cannot see a way to do this, and now my iPod touch is telling me I have 50+ new e-mails all the time. I don't want to have to click on each one. :confused:

Help and tips appreciated!

No, it is not possible. I have the same "problem". I use gmail and if I want to mark several emails as read (or unread) is to log in to my gmail account and change them to read there. I can also mark them as read in Outlook. They will then appear as read on your touch as well.

In the upper right corner there is a button called "Change" (or something similar), if you push this you can select several messages and then choose to either move them or delete them, but not change them to read.
