I had a iPod Video 30G with plenty of accessories. Now none of them work with my 2G Touch. As most of you know, Apple "broke compatibility." I really hope someone can tell me they had a reason besides driving assessory sales.
I travel A LOT and need a portable speaker solution that will charge my 2G Touch. I'm not too picky on sound, but need it to:
1) Needs to be able to CHARGE 2G Touch
2) Fold pretty flat (~7"x5"x1.5" or smaller)
3) Needs to have AC option included
I like the lady-bug thing, but it's just a bit too round and bulky for a carry-on bag.
Thanks everyone for you suggestions.

I have the Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere. I'm not sure if it works with the second gen, but look it up. You can. Use it on battery or with the AC adapter to charge the iPod.

I've read that the Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere II (the version that is certified with the iPhone, not the first version of the speakers) does indeed charge the 2G. But it loses its USB dock capability.
What I'm curious about is whether it is possible for a dock/speaker set to charge the iPod touch 2G/iPod nano 4G, as well as serve as a USB dock to the PC. Now that charging works only over USB, the docks would have to do some tricky bypassing. I wonder if it is feasible.

Don't some of the JBL speaker docks come with a USB cord to plug it into your PC?

I had a look at the Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere II. It's a wee bit too big for what I am after. Also, I can not find anywhere that it says specificallytat it is compatiable with the 2G Touch. It say compatible with all "dockable" iPods, then it also goes on to say it includes a 3.5mm patch cable to conect "some" iPods.... with that cable, I guess it's compatible with EVERY MP3 player. Sounds weasily to me!!!!

I have them and they work fine for me. I had to return the first set to logitech because they had excessive background static, but now there fine.

I own the Pure-Fi Anywhere II and it does work with the 2G iTouch. The sound is excellent, but the battery life is not as much as claimed. I don't find the size troublesome - it's very light and will fit in my backpack.
