Slow SMS?

Does anyone else have the problem where there is a noticeable delay in between the time you send a message and the time someone else receives it? For some reason, my iPhone will randomly take FOREVER to send messages, so people I'm talking to think I'm not responding. This never used to be a problem, but it's been happening more and more. I have a 16 GB original iPhone.

I had this happen to me today, think it might just be ATT slowness and not the iphone. this was the firsttime it happen to me and it was just for a short time...

Ugh it went from doing it every once in a while to doing it all the time. It only seems to do it with Verizon (which is 99% of my contact list). Wtf is going on?
