Hi guys. I have read through the entire forum and I have a question. I want to connect my iPod to my CD-Changer input on my factory bose system. I do not have the cd changer installed.

I have seen people posting that they got the aux. input converters for hondas etc... I can't seem to find one for a 2001 Maxima with sotck bose (no changer). Can any1 help me out here and tell me what I need. Thanks...

Check out this site:

http://www3.telus.net/cornblatt/nissan_stereos.htm

and

http://www3.telus.net/cornblatt/aux_in.htm

This guy (Cornblatt) made an adapter. Unfortunately, it is not simply a "which wire goes where" solution. Instead, to get the input volume level right and allow continued use of the in-dash CD player, electronics are needed.

Even worse, he's sold out and doesn't plan to make any more. :( And he's the only one I've found that made a Nissan/Bose converter in the first place (except for the Quest for which converters are available from several places - including the lagjamelectronics.com site HardSpike linked to).

Check out the following thread at maxima.org for the full story. Maybe you can find someone there willing to replicate Cornblatt's work.

Good luck.

I waent to all of those sites you guys posted. And in the first one, it said that it might not work for the 2001 maxima and they do not give refunds!

On the org the guy also told me that he has made it fot he 97-98 maximas, but also that it would not work for the 2001 which he does not know how to make.

Wow guys am I screwed here? I mean iut seems that you can do this to any car except mine lol. The Altimas even have an adapter made for them already. ####.. Any1 got any more suggestions?

Despite what some people say, a hardwired fm modulator sounds pretty d@mn good. Basically, if you are able to listen to and enjoy music from a strong, clear fm radio station, you will enjoy the iPod through a hardwired fm modulator as well.

Just keep in mind, you will probably need two antenna cable adapters because Nissan doesn't use standard antenna connectors. I got mine at the local Tweeter - which is a semi-high end Home Audio Video and Car stereo installation place.

thanks but I know that fm modulators arent that bad. A friend has an fm-modulated cd player, but it just doesnt sound the same you know what I mean? Plus the fact that I actually have an input that I cant use really bothers me. I mean they made the adapter for the altima, and even the maxima preceeding the 5th gen. What prevents them for making one, for the 5th gen? I dunno. I guess Ill just have to waitr or something maybe some1 will decide to make them.

II couldnt even find schematics or something to make the cable myself which sux.

Time for some experimentation. ;)

And after you've figured it out, you can sell the adapters on ebay. :D

Good luck. Just don't deny yourself the pleasure of having your entire music collection in the car - just because it won't sound "perfect."

And besides, the iPod fits so well in the Maxima.

:D
