Hey there! Sorry to ask something that I'm sure has been asked/brought up a million times by now, though a quick search brought up nothing... I just got the thing a few days ago, the 3G model obviously, and I love it! But despite the fact that I treat the thing like a newborn baby, or at least I think I do, there's already a bunch of scuffs all around the chrome ring. What the hell? Is it just mine or is everyone's so susceptible? I hear that its the same basic material that were on the back of iPods at one point, where also got scratched up easily, but I never owned one of those. Just checking!

I bang mine around all the time. I use a slide in holster, but more often than not it's nude. The only real protection I use on it is an InvisibleShield on the glass part.
Long story short, I don't have any scuffs on the chrome bezel. My scuffs are all on the Apple logo and the black back plate. The front is pristine, and I don't treat it with kid gloves.

I too use a screen protector, the power support film. I also use the Griffin Wave, which has scratched the chrome ring at the top and bottom of the phone. It kinda sucks, but I guess its the price you pay to have the Apple logo and backside scratch & impact resistant.

Scuff are a name of the game, regardless, even lint underneath a protector can mess it up. I say just dont drop it. If your concerned about future resale, dont worry, if you keep it in A-/B+ condition it will still fetch a pretty penny.
