Playing iPhone songs on another computer

I have songs on my computer at home that I sync my iPhone to. They were not purchased through iTunes, however (most are burned mp3's off albums). I would like to play the music on my iPhone through my work computer, so I don't have to bring in my external hardrive. Is this possible, and if so, how?

well, if the work computer has itunes installed I'm pretty sure you can just plug in your iphone and listen off the iphone as a "device" just like you normally would through itunes. But maybe installing itunes on your work computer isn't an option.
