My dh ordered me a Touch g.2 16gb last week from Amazon(they were $10 dollars cheaper plus $15 off if using bill me later to pay) Anyhow, My DH says I can not open it till Christmas which I was fine with the wait. Well after reading this forum and Apple's forum I am kinda scared not to open it to see if it works correctly. I emailed Amazon and told them that I had ordered for a Christmas Present would they extend the 30 days return and they said no but I could get up to 80 percent back if I needed to return after Christmas. Do yall think I will be ok to wait till Christmas or would it be a big mistake?
If I did open it would I have to do all the updates to see if it going to work right or not.
:shake:

I wouldn't worry about it honestly, apple has like a one year warranty for ipods that I guess is standard (I dont know about you though, I got mine at the apple store) so even if it did work im sure apple would replace it if it was defective.

The one year is for any iPod no matter where it was purchased.

Explain to your husband it will be better to check the ipod now incase it needs returned.
Then box it back up and save for xmas.

Yeah I agree. Mention that you want to open it up, just to make sure it works, but your all good with putting it away again until Christmas.

I wouldn't bother opening it up now.
You'll still have like 9 months of warranty on it at Christmas anyway.
If something goes wrong with it, I'm sure it'll be before 9 months.

Heck, I picked up a Wii for my niece in July, and that's for Christmas.

Just MHO.
