View Full Version : Can a touch 1st gen play all the games?

I don't personally plan to play games on my touch but a friend was wondering if the 1st gen touch would be able to play all the games available for the touch. I looked around Google and the forums and couldn't find a solid answer. Maybe it's obvious? Thanks for any input.

You are right, it is obvious. The requirements for iPod touch compatibility are normally very simple: the games require OS2.0 or above. So a 1G iPod touch would not be compatible with any games unless it is running the required software. There are even some games that require OS2.1. So make sure the iPod touch is running the appropriate OS. Other than the OS, you don't have to worry about game compatibility. There aren't any features on the 2G iPod touch that games could explicitly take advantage of that the 1G iPod touch doesn't already have.
