Songs playing out of order

It's as if I touched "Shuffle" at the top of the song list. I touch the album, then touch the first song to play the album through in song order. But the second song to play is not the second song.

Could this have something to do with iTunes 8 or the firmware upgrade? I upgraded to iTunes 8 and upgraded the firmware to 2.1 just the other day.

It sounds like you have the "shuffle" icon enabled. Look beside the scrub bar and see if it is blue. If so, there's your problem.

Well I feel stupid. I'm not sure if the scrub bar is the thing that pops up at the top of the screen when you tap the album art while the song is playing. I saw that the shuffle icon was blue, tapped it, and problem solved.

So how does that affect *all* albums, playlists, whatever? I tested it, and everything was shuffling. When I turned off the shuffle, it turned it off for everything. That's really not how I'd want it to work all the time...

and now my songs have skips in them. I've already tried to fix that once, months ago, and it worked on some songs, but man. New skips in my songs.
