Ipod Power loss

I really hope someone can help me here! i recenlty installed a nice 6" flat screen tv in my camper, the stereo and the tv runs off the leisure battery and instead of installing a DVD player to complete my install I thought id run filme through my Ipod and plug it in the tv and stereo saving a further drain on the leisure battery.....however everything wa set up fine and tested and worked well but for some reason the Ipod power lasted only 7 mins! it as a full battery and normally I can play a whole film just about when i play videos through my pod on my tele at home but for some reason the flat screen just seemed to suck the power out and totally drained me pod!!! Any ideas???? I thought id at least get the same charge out of my pod as i do at home.

why will the monitor take power from the ipod ? the only cable send to the monitor is the yellow rca jack ?

Well thats point........it shouldnt and i had a full battery on me pod but it just went!!!!! very odd. but when you play a film from your pod to your tv you kinda of export it from your pod as it uses more power as i can get 90miins easy from watching my pod but only about an hour from when it exports it to a tv.
