Ipod 2g?

Hello, I'm in a little predicament. I just ordered a refurbished 16gb ipod touch. After ordering, I realized it was the previous generation. I am thinking of sending it back when it comes and get the 2g ipod. I really don't know what to do because If i send it back and get the new one I'm going to spend almost another 100 dollars. Does anyone think its really worth all the trouble. I'm buying the touch mostly for the apps. So is it worth the extra dough just for an external volume control, a little longer battery life, Nike support, and stuff? I don't mind living without those things. I guess the main question is will there continue to be software updates and support for the 1st gen?

I think you answered your own question. If you can live without all the minor updates the version 2 Apple Touch offers then the Apple Touch version one should be find for you.
