bugs on 2g? / skin

I really want to get a 2gen 32gb from onsale.com (amazon doesn't have it for $379 anymore, but onsale does, and they offer free engraving, however, shipping isn't free like it was on amazon- just a little heads up for those who don't want to pay $400).

However, I've been reading through this forum and apparenly a lot of people have been having all sorts of different problems with the new gen itouch.

Are there really that many bugs? Has Apple released a fix for anything?

Battery life is what really makes me want to get this. 1st gen had 22 and this one supposedly has 36 hours? Can anyone confirm?

Also, does anyone know of any skins that came out already for the 2gen? I really wanted one from iskin.com and they made a note saying the 1st gen skin will not fit the 2nd gen.

Yes 2nd gen iPod Touch has 36 hours battery life. iLounge got 39 hours out of their 2nd gen iPod Touch tests, keep in mind this is 36-39 hours for music! When you use Wi-Fi and watch videos, the battery life will vary.

I'm not experiencing too much bugs with my 2nd gen iPod Touch, the Wi-Fi on mine is working fine so far with 2 different wireless connections. Although I'll say, I wish Apple would fix the volume leveling issue on 2nd gen iPod Touch's! Thats the only issue I'm having is some songs are louder than others, or not as loud as others... I spent lots of time adjusting volume levels on my mp3's when I was using my Nano... So I hope Apple are aware of this and fix it with the next firmware upgrade!

Man, this 32gb iPod Touch is awesome. Yes the price is steep but hell, its worth it. Its only $100 more than the 16gb version and you're getting double the space. If the 16gb version is $299 then this 32gb should be priced at $599! So you're really saving yourself money getting the 32gb version when you really think about it :)

and what about the speaker? was it a letdown? a lot of people said it was really low and expected it to be able to play louder.

The speaker is cool I think! But yah its not loud, in your bedroom you'll be able to hear it but if you were somewhere in public, you won't be able to hear it. But thats ok, I didn't get this iPod Touch because of the speaker... I got it because of 32gb of flash memory and 36 hours of battery life for music were the two main reasons I picked up this iPod Touch :) Then the games, wi-fi and everything else was just another plus.

Oh and answer to your other question about the skins... you're talking about silicon cases right? Just go to iLounge main page and theres gotta be a link to the cases reviews. Griffin, Incipio etc are all making cases for the 2g iPod Touch. And yah the 1g iPod Touch cases would be too loose on the 2g iPod Touch.
