Here there. im quite new here and need an answer to a question.

I'm looking to buy the lowest spec itouch and it retails at 169 form the apple store. I work for sainsburys and our store has it on sale for 129. then i get my discount on top. But im a bit scepticale that its an older version not the newer.
So my question is this:

Is there anything that will tell me its a new one prior to buying?
When ive bought it what can i look for to tell the differences between the older and newer version??

Prior buying, the difference between their packages are pretty obvious. The 1st gen touch has a box like iPhone, rather big and black. The 2nd gen touch has a nano-style box, which is rather thin and has a transparent cover so you can see the device.
2nd gen Touch also has external volume buttons on the left side and the back of the device is chrome and curved.

Thanks mate, so if its got a clear case like nano's then its all good. but if its in a black box then they can keep it?
Thanks
