"Cheating" the accelerometer

Hey guys

One of the only problems i have with the iPod touch is the accelerometer. I know I'm not the only one with this issue, too. Sometime I'm using my touch and I want to lay down on my bed on my side and continue using it. But the iPod wants to go into landscape mode, whereas my eyes are still in portrait mode. is there anyway to "cheat" this and make it stay in portrait mode?

I have the same problem, as far as I know there is no way to go around it. Hopefully they'll make it a feature in 2.2

always had tht problem with browsing the net.... err if its safari u hav the prob wit get "my fox" if ur jailbroken

that would be a nice feature if Apple can come around to not having the accelerometer work with all apps. Maybe a setting to turn it off in certain apps? might be something Steve and Co. want to look into
