I've searched this forum (along with Apple's site). But am unable to find a way to copy/paste text from an email onto a notes page.

Is this something that Apple doesn't support? Sorry for the 'noob' question, but I am new to the way Apple does things (not a criticism).

Thanks in advance!
Dan

This is something that Apple doesn't support on either the iPhone 3G or the 2G iPod touch (or the iPhone EDGE or 1G iPod touch for that matter). Many "geek" websites report that the iPhone is the perfect "smartphone" on the market except for one fatal flaw: you can't copy and paste. I guess Apple thinks that no one will use this feature. Don't hold your breath for this feature either as many people have complained about it not being in both the iPhone and iPod touch yet Apple has yet to add it.

Thanks for letting me know! The response somewhat dampens my appreciation of the iTouch and now is making me think twice about an iPhone. Unfortunately I copy/paste a lot of information between applications and I can't see me sychronizing with a PC everytime I need to 'make a note'.

Is this something that is inherent with MACs also. Would be a 'killer' for me to purchase one then.

I believe that Palm powered PDAs (and Palm powered smartphones) can sync with Mac OS but that is about it. I know that the Palm OS can copy and past text from multiple applications. The only issue is that the Palm OS is really old and they (Palm) have been promising an update for the past two years now.

Is the Air Sharing app something that could be of use to you? Search for it in the App store.

I appreciate the suggestion, unfortunately Air-Sharing isn't quite what I was looking for. The A/S application requires the simultaneous use of a computer. I was hoping for something that was on a singular device (iPod). Otherwise I may as well stay with my smartphone for my day to day routines and use the iPod for music.

Rats! really quashes any thoughts of an iPhone.

Thanks for responding!
