Ok, here's the basic summary. I have a choice of either buying a 2g iPod Touch 8gb for $270, or a 1G iPod Touch 32 gb for $300. I really prefer the latter by a mile, but will I be missing out on anything big by not sticking with the newest model out?? Please help me out! And Thank You For Any help You Provide :)

If that is truly your only option, then that the latter (32gig 1g).....
I have the 2gen 16gig and it is awesome.... only regret I have is not getting the 32 gig.... but I have no interest in the 1gen..... the faster processor, actual volume controls (real buttons on the side), and the lame preview speaker and better battery life make it a whole lot more useful for me.

Why are you buying the 2g 8gb Touch for $270?

I would have trouble keeping the music/movies on anything smaller than the 32 GB 1st gen that I currently use. If you have to have the 2nd Gen, I would say save up a little longer for the 32 GB.
