Playlists are going walk about

Ok, just got a ipod touch second gen. Its great. HOWEVER...

for the second time today, ive been sat making playlists on itunes for the ipod. Ive set it up so im manually managing my music as well...however soon as go to sync up some videos, itunes decides to delete all the playlists on my ipod. whats going on? Need some help plz!

The key word you said was "sync". You can't auto-sync video and manually manage music -- it's all one way or the other. If you want to auto-sync your video, then select the playlists that you want to also auto-sync to. Or change to manual mode and drag and drop everything you want, including video.
