Just got a new car that has a mp3 digital connection and when I hooked up my ipod to it via the headphone jack, I was not impressed with the sound. I had to really crank the volume to get any decent sound.
I put in a cd to see if there was a difference and could really tell a difference; the cd was much louder and had more punch.

Now, the quality of my mp3's could be the cause (i only checked a few albums) or the headphone out doesn't produce enough power.

Any ideas?
Is that the best way to connect to that connection?

Something that connects to the dock connector will give you much better sound. It's pretty common to have to crank it up when it's connected to the headphone port.
