Well that makes two of us. You'll need to be more specific about your problem. What you did is kind of like taking your car to a mechanic and telling them your car doesn't work, or going to visit your Doctor and telling him you don't feel good. We need details...

ive noticed a lot of people having problems with Linksys routers and their Touch iPods. but yep we need details besides the obvious firmware update :)

i guess the most important question is the Wifi Encryption being used between the router and other wireless devices because i know that ipods with 2.1 have a problem certain encryption settings.

I have a linksys WRT54G. I have NEVER Had a problem with the router. Not on any firware they offer for it. My firmware is up to date on the router and it works fine, always has, for both my iPhone and iPod Touch. Try connecting the touch, then unplugging and resetting the router. But I dont know why so many people have trouble with Linksys, when I dont, and all those who visit my home and use their iPhones and IPT never do

FWIW, my 2G Touch works fine with my Linksys WRT54G2

Same Same... works great with 2G Touch.

I use MAC filtering, rather than encryption. I know that MAC addresses can be cloned, but I am more interested in stopping my neighbor from jacking my internet bandwidth than protecting my 'stuff.'

I have a ton of other stuff that trips up on encryption (WIFI photo frame, NAS drive, WIFI webcam, etc...) so I havn't really pressed the Touch too much. Think lowest-common-denomenator.

No help there, I know, but I enjoyed typing it. Good luck.

What is your "Maximum number of DHCP users" settng, and how many devices connect to your network simultaneously?

Let's start with basics: Does your iPod see your Linksys router when you turn on wi-fi? If so, what error message do you get when you attempt to connect to it?

i have tried a few settings
yes it sees the router
on time it will say it isnt connected to the net
and the other time it will look like it is starting to work
and then say it lost connection to the server

I'm assuming your max DHCP users is not exceeded, right? How about cycling the power of the router? How about trying a channel other than 6?

Can anyone help me with my wifi issue?

I got a 32gb 2g itouch a few days ago, and immediately it detected my linksys network and has been working fine. However, I was playing around with trying to get various connections outside of my home. all showed signals, but couldn't connect to the internet. Now, I can't even get a signal at home on my linksys. the itouch detects the linksys and has bars and a check mark, but no signal strength in the upper left corner. what gives?? Please help!!

i have the exact same problem. ive been on the phone with both linksys and apple, talking to the head product speciaist of apple. today, i got disconnected from her while she was telling me to restore my ipod and such. i've already done that twice.. and nothing has helped. one of the guys i talked to yesterday said they havent figured out the problem yet but he sort of swept it under the rug.. everybody has the same problem with this router.. and it only makes me want to return my ipod.
