I am wanting to buy a Touch and have been set on one but am afraid I'll use it up! I have a 1GB Shuffle and have put about 1/2 GB on it. Of course with the Touch there are Apps, movies, games etc. For me tv shows aren't interesting for that I'll buy the DVD's the same goes to movies but at least 1 for trips around town might be good. When I get it home I'm looking at truthfully around 7GB then I'd guess after music/apps I have set up now it'd be around 6GB+more apps later, and games etc. Thanks. :-)

i have a 8 gb touch...

i have a 500 gig external hard drive on my computer, thats where my 90 gig music library is held..

i have no complaints about my 8 gig touch, i never even had that much music on it.. to be honest, 8 gig of music while behind the wheel of your car might be a bit dangerous.. i keep my 15 most played cd's on my touch and i still have PLENTY of room...

i have been fine since i bought it last november...

now... i just got into converting my store bought dvd's into ipod format. i went out and bought the composite av cable from apple for $50.00, i absolutely love my setup,

if you want the movie to look good on the ipod touch all you need to do is to convert it into a small file size of 200mb,

if you want it to look dvd quality when you use the $50 dollar cable and project the movie out of your ipod to your tv, well then you need to convert the movies to the largest size possible.. they are now around 1.12 gigs a movie..

with my music i can now only fit 2 or 3 movies...

this sucks... i wish i would have gotten a 32 gig touch...

hope this helps

I have an 8Giger. It was all I could afford at the time.
You can fit an awful lot in 8Gb.
I have about 600 songs and a truckload of Podcasts.
Apps don't take up much space, but movies do.

Instead of being a hoarder who carries around everything you possess, you can swap in and out a few videos that are currently of interest, and delete old podcasts that you know you will never listen to and so forth. A little bit of iTunes management now and again.

Personally, if I went back in time I'd probably spend a bit more and go for the 16G, but 8G is still extremely usable.

I would definetly suggest something larger than a 8GB. I intially bought a 8GB and then ended up upgrading to a 16GB. Even if you dont have a very large library or you dont want to carry your whole library it still makes sense to get some extra memory. Your library is always going to be growing. Even if its just music. Add some tv shows, movies, podcasts and apps into it and you will definetly want more memory. If you dont have enough for a 32GB then atleast get a 16GB you will be happier in the long run.

Dude 8GB is alot of room, other people say its not because they would rather have it with them all the time, Just dont sync the movies that you watched in it, just sync it when you feel like watchin it again. 8GB is a lot, you said you got a 1GB shuffle, then youre gonna feel free with this 8GB touch, oh and the apps are really small sizes. I downloaded like 8 and its less than 15MB
